1. Introduction

big3.me ("we", "our", "the Service") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following information when you use big3.me:

• Account data: email address and authentication provider (Apple, Google, or email)
• Birth data: date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth, used solely for computing birth charts and forecasts
• Current location: if you allow it on your iPhone, your approximate location, so today's forecast is computed for where you are. See Your Location below
• Profile data: names and usernames you give your chart profiles. A profile's name, handle and chart can be found and viewed by other members
• Social data: who you follow, the charts you like, the accounts you block, and the reports you file. The owner of a chart can see who follows and likes it; blocks and reports are never shown to the person they concern
• Messages: the text of the private messages you send and receive, who each conversation is with, and when each message was sent and read. See Private Messages below
• Device data: a push notification token for each iPhone you are signed in on, and the language the app is set to, so notifications reach you in your language
• Payment data: only for a subscription bought on the big3.me website, processed securely by Stripe. Nothing is sold in the iOS app. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Compute birth charts, forecasts, and compatibility between two charts
• Show your activity (new followers and likes), and keep blocked accounts apart
• Deliver your private messages, and notify you of new likes, followers and messages
• Review reports and enforce the Community Rules in our Terms
• Manage your account, and a website subscription if you have one
• Improve the Service and fix issues

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing the Service.

3a. Private Messages

You can write to a member who follows you, and they can answer. Messages are stored on our servers so they can be delivered and shown on your devices, and they are kept until the account of either member of the conversation is deleted: deleting your account removes every conversation you were in, with all its messages.

We do not read your messages. The only exception is a report: when a member of a conversation reports the other person from the chat, the latest messages of that conversation (up to 20) are sent with the report to our moderation inbox, where the person reviewing the report reads them. Messages that contain words our Community Rules do not allow are refused automatically when they are sent, without anyone reading them.

When someone writes to you, a push notification shows the sender's name and the beginning of the message on your lock screen and in Notification Center. You can turn message notifications off in Settings → Community, or in your iPhone's settings.

3b. Your Location

The iOS app asks once whether it may use your location while you use the app. If you allow it, the app takes one reading each time it opens and turns it into the name of your city on your iPhone, using Apple's location services. The approximate position and the city name are sent with each forecast request, so the forecast is computed for where you are now rather than where you were born, and the city is shown at the top of the screen.

We use your location only for that. We do not track your movements, keep a history of where you have been, show your location to other members, or share it with anyone. If you do not allow it, or turn it off later in your iPhone's Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → big3.me, the app works the same and uses the place saved with your chart instead.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except:

• Stripe: for payment processing (subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy)
• Supabase: for secure data storage and authentication (subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy)
• Apple Push Notification service: to deliver notifications to your iPhone, including the sender's name and the beginning of a message (subject to Apple's Privacy Policy)
• Resend: to send our emails, including profile invitations and the reports our moderators review (subject to Resend's Privacy Policy)
• Legal requirements: if required by law or to protect our rights

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase with encryption at rest. All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Deleting your account deletes every chat you were in, with all of its messages, for both people.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data in a portable format

7a. How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your account directly from within the app:

1. Open Settings (gear icon) → Account
2. Scroll to Delete Account and tap the button
3. Confirm the deletion in the dialog that appears

Your account and all associated data are deleted immediately, and the action cannot be undone.

If you are unable to access the app, email us at big3meapp@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account with the subject "Delete my account" and we will process the request within 5 business days.

What gets deleted: your profile, birth data, birth chart, compatibility data, follow relationships, likes, blocks, the reports you filed, every conversation you were in with its messages, your push notification tokens, subscription records, and all account information. Deletion is permanent.

What is retained: anonymized usage statistics required by law (up to 30 days after deletion).

8. Cookies & Analytics

big3.me uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or analytics services that collect personal data.

9. Children's Privacy

big3.me is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
